The cottages are on a hillside on a farm in beautiful Glenlivet and consist of 3 cottages in a stone steading and 1 is a small stone farmhouse. The cottages are Visit Scotland 4 star approved has been awarded silver in Green Tourism. Some of the cottages are named after local distilleries: Aberlour sleeps 2-4 in 2 bedrooms; Dronach sleeps 2-6 in 2 bedrooms; Glenlivet sleeps 2-6 in 3 bedrooms and Folds the farmhouse sleeps 2-8 in 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms.
Tomintoul, 9 miles from the cottages, is a large village in the Cairngorms National Park and at the centre of the Glenlivet Estate. There is exciting wildlife throughout the estate and the park: red deer, roe deer, eagles, buzzards, kestrels; there are summer visitors - lapwings, oystercatchers, curlews to name only a few. Walks for all levels of experience from gentle strolls by the river to challenging walks in the hills and mountains of the area. The rivers supply water to distilleries - the Glenlivet, Tamnavulon and Braeval. The Glenlivet is open to the public offering free tours and "a wee dram".
