The Artists Retreat

Min 2 nights.
The Artists Retreat is a fully self contained holiday home built to resemble an 1800s wooden church.Cosy and quirky, using recycled materials where possible, there is a great relaxed feeling. Perched on a hill side with fantastic views over farmlands from the mountains to the sea, this is your home away from home. Just a few minutes drive from Kaikoura on the main road, access is easy from all that Kaikoura has to offer. Kaikoura is world famous for Whale watching and Dolphin/Seal swimming. We have a small QE11 Trust bushland (see our web site ) and farm animals and pets that love to be patted and feed. There is beautiful light for painters and photographers in the area. Also there is an Art Gallery on site featuring the paintings of Karen James. You are welcome to visit. The township of Kaikoura is less than 10 minutes drive where all facilities including shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, a hospital, picture theatre are available. There are magnificent walks over the peninsula, along the beaches and through the foot hills of The Seaward Kaikoura mountain range.Because there are so many things to do in and around Kaikoura we have a 2 night minimum but many people stay longer in the area.We look forward to meeting you. Cheers Bob & Karen.
