Aisling Cottage is a charming, carefully upgraded traditional crofter's cottage which can accommodate four people, though it's perfect for two. The cottage nestles in a quiet crofting township on the outskirts of Broadford on the Isle of Skye. In the south of the island, Broadford is easily accessible, just eight miles from the Skye bridge, and is well placed for exploring Skye and the immediate mainland.
Centrally heated, the cottage has one double and one twin bedroom, a large shower room, comfortable sitting room and open plan kitchen/dining room. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a fridge-freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher.
The works of local artists are featured throughout the cottage. Cosy, soothing and private, Aisling is a wonderful place to escape the stresses of modern life.
The corner window in the sitting room provides a view across Broadford Bay to the island of Pabay. There is a widescreen TV with DVD player and bookshelves with local information and novels. The room also has a log-burning stove.
A steep narrow traditional staircase leads to the bathroom and two bedrooms.
Aisling Cottage has a large garden and there is a pretty summerhouse where you can sit with a dram of island whisky and enjoy the sunsets. A barbeque is also available. The garden is surrounded by green croft land with sheep and horses grazing nearby
The village of Broadford has a range of facilities including galleries, craft shops, supermarket, filling station, bank and several restaurants and hotels all featuring fresh seafood and local produce.
There are several lovely walks directly from the cottage and two beautiful beaches nearby, with fossils, seals and otters. Boat trips can take you to look for sea eagles and whales.
We look forward to welcoming you to Aisling Cottage for a special holiday in the spectacular Isle of Skye.
